# What is a no-KYC proxy?

> A no-KYC proxy is a proxy service you can buy without identity verification: the provider asks for no ID card, selfie or company documents before you sign up, top up or buy, while its usage rules still apply. Jade Proxies works this way; only 2 of the 8 other providers in its price index require identity checks from every customer.

**Key figure: 2 of 8** — According to the Jade Proxies price index, 2 of the 8 other residential proxy providers read on 18 October 2026 require identity checks from every customer, 1 states it has no KYC, and 5 ask in specific cases or publish no rule on their pricing pages. ## What does KYC mean?

KYC, "know your customer", is the process of verifying who a customer is before serving them, by checking a government ID, a selfie, company registration papers or a written description of the intended use. Banks, payment firms and crypto exchanges run KYC as a legal duty under anti-money-laundering rules. Proxy providers that run it set it in their own terms and present it as an abuse-prevention measure; Oxylabs, for example, publishes its rules on a page titled "KYC and safety".

A no-KYC proxy is the opposite policy: the account opens and the plan works without any of these checks.

## What does KYC look like at proxy providers?

KYC at proxy providers ranges from a short questionnaire to a full ID-and-selfie check, according to the providers' own pages:

- **Use-case questionnaire.** Oxylabs states that every customer answers a KYC questionnaire (read 18 October 2026).
- **ID or business registration.** Geonode asks for one or the other for all accounts (trust page, read 18 October 2026).
- **Government ID and selfie.** Infatica asks for a photo of an ID document and a selfie at checkout (read 5 October 2026).
- **Company verification.** Bright Data requires company KYC for residential zones created after 7 July 2026 (documentation, read 5 October 2026).
- **Checks for restricted targets.** Webshare unblocks certain sites after a brief KYC procedure, and Proxy-Seller asks for KYC on restricted resources or ports plus a stated purpose of use (both read 5 October 2026).

## Which proxy providers require KYC?

Few providers require KYC from everyone, but most reserve the right to ask. According to the Jade Proxies price index, 2 of the 8 other residential providers read on 18 October 2026, Oxylabs and Geonode, require identity checks from every customer; 1 states it has no KYC; the other 5 ask in specific cases or publish no rule on their pricing pages.

| Provider | Identity checks, per its own pages (18 October 2026) |
|---|---|
| Jade Proxies | None: no ID, no selfie, no documents |
| Oxylabs | KYC questionnaire for every customer |
| Geonode | ID or business registration for all accounts |
| IPRoyal | Statements differ between its pages |
| DataImpulse | On suspicion; for resellers |
| Rayobyte | On unusual use |
| Webshare | For restricted sites or on suspicion |
| Decodo | Not stated on pricing pages |
| ProxyWing | "No KYC, instant start" |

Mobile proxy sellers are split too. Proxidize states that KYC is required for all customers, while NodeMaven's crypto page states that standard plans need no KYC (both read 5 October 2026). Prices, traffic expiry and crypto support for the same providers are in the [Asia residential proxy price index](https://jadeproxies.com/asia-residential-proxy-price-index-2026/). KYC policies change often: read a provider's own KYC page on the day you buy.

## What does no-KYC mean at Jade Proxies?

At Jade Proxies, no-KYC means no ID, no selfie, no documents to sign up, top up or buy. You receive an account number that serves as your login; adding an email is optional and is the only way to recover the account. You pay in crypto (BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, SOL and LTC) from a balance with a $25 minimum top-up, and the first purchase can be the 1 GB residential plan at $1.50.

No-KYC is not no records. Jade Proxies keeps the connection metadata it needs to bill and police the service, as the table below shows. It is operated by ProxyGoat LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (USA), and the [privacy policy](https://jadeproxies.com/privacy/) sets out what is kept and why.

## What are the trade-offs of a no-KYC proxy?

A no-KYC proxy trades identity paperwork for stricter rules on the account itself. These are the trade-offs at Jade Proxies:

| Trade-off | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Login by account number | The number is your login: store it as you would a password |
| Recovery only through the optional email | Without an email on file, a lost account number cannot be recovered |
| Crypto only | Payment in BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, SOL and LTC (USDT on TRC-20 or ERC-20, USDC on ERC-20); no cards, no PayPal |
| Sanctions blocking | By policy, mainland China, North Korea and Iran are not sold; sanctioned countries and regions are blocked |
| Acceptable use enforcement | Fraud, spam, account takeover and attacks lead to account closure |
| Data retention | No ID documents on file; no logs of request content, full URLs or page data; connection metadata (time, account, exit IP, target hostname, bytes) kept up to 30 days for abuse and billing, then deleted |

Teams that must pay by card or bank transfer fit a card-based provider better. Buyers who want a fast start with the least personal data on file are the audience for no-KYC; the [crypto payment guide](https://jadeproxies.com/how-to-buy-proxies-with-crypto/) shows the top-up step by step.

## Why choose a proxy without KYC?

The legitimate reasons to choose a proxy without KYC are data minimisation, confidentiality and speed:

- **Data minimisation.** An ID scan that is never collected cannot leak in a breach. The EU's GDPR makes data minimisation a core principle (Article 5(1)(c)): collect only what a service needs. A proxy service needs a login and a payment, not a passport.
- **Confidential research.** Price monitoring, SEO tracking, brand protection and market research are often confidential. Not tying a vendor account to a named employee's ID keeps that work off one more database.
- **Fast start for developers.** A developer can open an account, top up $25 and test a target with [Asian residential proxies](https://jadeproxies.com/asian-residential-proxies/) without waiting for a compliance review.

The full plan list for both products is on the [pricing page](https://jadeproxies.com/pricing/).

## What is a no-KYC proxy not for?

A no-KYC proxy is not a way around the law or platform rules. Connection metadata is kept, crypto payments are recorded on public blockchains, and the [acceptable use policy](https://jadeproxies.com/acceptable-use/) forbids fraud, carding, account takeover, credential stuffing, spam, fake engagement and evading law enforcement. Breaking it closes the account, and abuse reports go to abuse@jadeproxies.com.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it legal to use a no-KYC proxy?

Yes, for lawful work: no-KYC describes how you sign up, not what you may do. The laws that apply to your traffic, and the provider's acceptable use policy, are the same as at a provider that checks ID.

### Is a no-KYC proxy anonymous?

No. A no-KYC provider holds no identity documents, but it still keeps operational records. At Jade Proxies the rule is: no logs of request content, full URLs or page data; connection metadata (time, account, exit IP, target hostname, bytes) kept up to 30 days for abuse and billing, then deleted. Crypto payments also stay visible on public blockchains.

### What happens if I lose my account number?

If you added an email, you recover the account through it. Without an email on file, the account and its balance cannot be recovered, so add one if you want a recovery path.

### Why do many proxy providers ask for ID?

Providers that ask for ID present it as abuse prevention: it lets them tie an account to a person or company and restrict sensitive targets. Oxylabs and Geonode apply it to every customer; Webshare and Proxy-Seller apply it to restricted targets.

### Can I pay for a no-KYC proxy by card?

Not at Jade Proxies: payment is crypto only, in BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, SOL and LTC. The minimum top-up is $25, and residential traffic bought with it never expires.

### Will Jade Proxies ask for my ID later?

No. The policy is no ID, no selfie, no documents to sign up, top up or buy. Abuse is handled through the acceptable use policy and the records described above, not through identity documents.
